My Journey
I was born in UP into an Indian Army officer's family with Kashmiri origin. The defense family upbringing also meant frequent uprooting and replanting in different places across the Country. This gifted me the ability to adapt to newer circumstances and environments and also exposed me to different cultures and thought processes. It helped me evaluate cultural and social responses from a geographical perspective.
1993-2000
In 1993 I joined Kala Bhavan, Visva Bharati Santiniketan to pursue my Bachelors and Masters in Fine Arts in Printmaking. My stint here furthered my exposure to diverse cultures and the experience of navigating between different social platforms.
2001-2008
In 2001 I moved to Delhi where I joined the Lalit Kala Akademi Garhi Artists Studios whilst teaching at the Bal Bharati Public School in Noida (U.P). Delhi gifted me the opportunity to be a part of art shows and camps in the Capital.
2009-2021
This period marks the formation of my own studio space where I begin to explore different mediums and discover the joy in moving pencil and brush over wood. I also expand the scope and premise of artistry into mentorship and art education.
